Zee Saville grew up on the small-town streets of Cape Town and now makes a life in Los Angeles. The distance between those two rooms is the subject of her work: faith that has to survive a loud city, family that will not be performed for a camera, and culture that keeps asking women to be quieter than they are.
She built The Ville as a public square with manners and a spine. Club Zee is the inner room — the conversations that do not survive an algorithm, the book that gets read properly, the cuts that do not air.
